Why do a New York City soccer camp ?
New York City, the city that never sleeps, is probably the capital of the world, if such a place exists. Its famous landmarks and places are almost limitless. These are just some of the iconic places in New York City: the United Nations Headquarters, Times Square, Manhattan, the Statue of Liberty, the Empire State Building, Central Park, the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Guggenheim Museum and much, much more.
As well as those famous places to see, there is so much to do. The city is alive and constantly bustling with life. Going on the subway is a tourist attraction in of itself, and if you shopped for the rest of your days, you would probably not visit all the shops. It also has a very rich and diverse culture, and you can find the cuisine of literally any country, often in the form of street vendors. Visiting any of the “Little” neighbourhoods like Little Italy is surreal as it truly takes on the identity of their country. It is impossible to be bored when visiting New York City.
New York City, a club familiar with soccer greatness
Founded in only 2013, three of the best players to ever kick a ball have played for the New York City badge : Frank Lampard, Andrea Pirlo and David Villa. Frank Lampard is the highest ever goalscoring midfielder in the Premier League, Andrea Pirlo has been the boss of midfield for Inter Milan, Juventus and AC Milan, and David Villa was an essential part of Barcelona and Spain’s teams between 2010 and 2013, two of the best soccer teams ever.
If that was not enough, New York City was also managed by Patrick Viera, an Arsenal legend and Invincible (part of the team that went unbeaten in a Premier League season). In his first season, he set a record with the club by having the biggest improvement in wins from one season to the next. This is a club that has been helped and has helped some soccer legends : it understands soccer.
