Location
The soccer camps of the FC Metz Academy take place at the Technical Center of La Plaine in Metz, just 10 minutes by bus from the accommodations.
Metz is a pleasant city with significant history. Numerous monuments and typical architectures can be admired in the city, such as the Metz train station, voted the most beautiful train station in France.
Metz is a French city located in the Moselle department in Lorraine. Soccer camps in Lorraine are not as common despite the presence of many clubs, such as ASNL in Nancy or a bit further in Alsace, the Racing Club de Strasbourg.
Accommodation
The accommodations are located near the city center of Metz, within the Arsenal College.
The children will be accommodated in rooms for 4 people. A common room equipped with foosball, TV, game consoles, and other board games will allow the children to gather during their free time.
The sporting Facilities
The children will be training at the Technical Center of La Plaine, which offers several grass and synthetic fields.
These are facilities designed for high-level athletes, ensuring continuous maintenance of the fields and providing spaces for medical care, strength training, etc.
Catering and food
Meals are provided at the Arsenal College.
With the pleasant summer weather, children will eat outdoors as much as possible, at large tables under the covered area.
All dietary restrictions and allergies are taken into account. You just need to specify them in the registration form that you will receive after booking.
Safety and security

Training
The FC Metz training camps are based on the methodology of the club’s Performance Program Academy.
Initially, children will be grouped by age, and the groups will be further refined based on skill levels throughout the week.
Every morning, the children will have soccer training from 9:45 AM to 11:30 AM. They will cover all aspects of modern soccer through technical exercises. Depending on the positions of the children, coaches will set up specific workshops to help all children improve, regardless of their initial skill levels.
On Friday afternoon from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM, a 4 vs 4 soccer tournament is scheduled.
At the end of this tournament, a closing ceremony for the camp will mark its conclusion, including an awards presentation and a camp review.
Please note that each week is themed with additional age groups as follows:
- April 26 to 30: Boys and girls born between 2011 and 2015
- July 7 to 12: Boys and girls born between 2011 and 2014, and Pre-training camp for boys born between 2009 and 2010
- July 14 to 19: Boys and girls born between 2011 and 2014, and 100% Girls camp for girls born between 2009 and 2012
- July 21 to 26: Boys and girls born between 2011 and 2016
- August 19 to 23: Boys born in 2007, 2008, 2009
Coaches and coaching method
Under the direction of Denis Schaeffer, Director of the academy and former director of the Metz training center, the supervisory and coaching team is experienced, qualified, and, in some cases, comprised of former high-level athletes.
They possess extensive experience to impart, helping all children progress during the training camp.
Staff and activities
In the weekly program, the afternoons of Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday are dedicated to exploring other sports. Through introductory sessions, children will have the choice among a wide range of activities: mountain biking, climbing, tennis, canoeing, boxing, archery, golf, rifle shooting, ice skating…
Every evening, the entertainment team also plans free activities such as table tennis, foosball, indoor games, or soccer tennis before bedtime around 10:00 PM.
Trips and days out
On Wednesday afternoon, the children will visit Walygator Park. An entertaining and friendly afternoon with all kinds of attractions for the more daring, as well as options for those who prefer a more relaxed experience.
Finally, a visit to the beautiful city of Metz is also on the agenda. This provides an opportunity for the children to share different moments and strengthen their friendships.
Typical day
The program is provided as an indication. It may vary depending on the camp weeks.
