We’ll answer all these questions so you can prepare for your next football-themed summer holiday. Let’s go !
What is a football summer camp ?

Just as a music camp would offer activities related to music such as learning instruments, singing, and music theory. A football summer camp is primarily focused on this sport, the most practiced sport in the world.
Structured as a football training programme, these camps are spread across France and abroad, with the sole focus being the practice of football.
The camps can be offered as half-board or full-board to fit all budgets. There are also specific courses such as:
While many summer camps are mixed, there are also camps dedicated exclusively to women’s football.
Who can participate in the football summer camp?
These camps are generally open to everyone, boys and girls, with age ranges from 5 to 22 years old, depending on the camp. The goal is to introduce young people to the sport, which explains the abundance of camps for young teenagers.
It’s a unique experience for them, the chance to learn how to play like the pros with top-level coaches.
A football summer camp is a sporting holiday camp where football is at the heart of the programme. It’s not suitable for people who cannot practice this discipline.
What is the structure of a football camp?
The structure of the football summer camp will entirely depend on the type of football camp selected and the location. We mainly distinguish between half-board and full-board camps, as well as camps in France and abroad.
Half-board camp in France
The half-board football camp includes only training, meals, and snacks. In this format, participants are welcomed in the morning for training sessions and return home in the evening after a shower.
As a bonus, some camps offer activities such as visits to iconic football stadiums or educational tournaments.
Full-board camp in France
In contrast to half-board, full-board camps offer an experience closer to a true summer camp. Once the young footballers arrive at the camp, they will stay there for the entire duration of the programme, both day and night.
A typical day at these camps looks like this:
- 7:30 AM: Wake-up
- 8:00 AM: Breakfast
- 9:00 AM: Training
- 12:00 PM: Lunch
- 1:00 PM: Free time
- 2:30 PM: Training/match/outdoor activity
- 6:00 PM: Free time/relaxation activity
- 8:00 PM: Dinner
- 9:00 PM: Evening entertainment
- 10:00 PM: Bedtime
Of course, the programmes will vary from one camp to another, so it’s important to check the details of each camp. However, generally, the participants spend as much time as possible on the football pitch.
Camps Abroad
Summer holidays are also a time for travel and discovering new countries. That’s exactly what some summer camps offer. Still centred around football, these camps are held in cities home to some of the world’s biggest football clubs:
These football summer camps are available as full-board or half-board, including hotel stays, meals, and leisure activities like excursions.
How much does a football summer camp cost?
The price of a football summer camp varies depending on your selection:
- Duration
- Location/club
- Type of board
- Season (summer-June, summer-August, winter, etc.)
- Extras
- Specialisation
For a 5-day half-board summer camp, the cost is approximately 500£ for a standard camp without specialisation.
For the same type of camp but with full-board, expect to pay around 900£. Note that some clubs in France may be cheaper, but they may not offer the same activities and outings.
For a camp abroad, the price ranges from 1,300£ to 2,200£, depending on the country and specialisations. It’s important to note that transport to the camp is generally not included in most camps. However, for an additional fee, airport transfers to the camp are available and organised by Looking For Soccer.
