Location
The camp takes place at Complexo Desportivo do Alto do Lumiar, a well-known sports facility in northern Lisbon.
Alto do Lumiar is a residential district of Greater Lisbon, both well-connected and away from the hustle of the historic center. Its calm environment and green spaces make it a pleasant setting for sports, while offering easy access to public transport and the capital’s main attractions. Just minutes from the Estádio José Alvalade — one of the most iconic stadiums in Portuguese soccer — the district is steeped in a strong soccer culture that can only inspire young participants.
Lisbon itself needs no introduction: a sun-drenched, cosmopolitan capital, a city of seven hills and a thousand azulejo-covered facades, it is one of Europe’s most appealing urban destinations. For families accompanying their child, a week in Lisbon in July means as many evenings exploring Alfama, Belém or the banks of the Tagus as mornings spent cheering from the sidelines.
The sporting Facilities
Complexo Desportivo do Alto do Lumiar provides a complete and well-maintained sports facility, perfectly suited for organizing a full-day camp. The available spaces accommodate the three age groups simultaneously — from the youngest (6-7 years old) to the most advanced (11-12 years old) — with dedicated areas for technical drills, warm-ups and matches.
Located in a quiet residential neighborhood of northern Lisbon, the complex benefits from a secure and accessible environment, making both morning drop-off and end-of-day pickup easy for families.
Safety and security
Days from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm, groups formed by age and level, UEFA-certified coaches: at Alto do Lumiar, supervision follows the same strict standards as in every city where the Real Madrid Foundation operates. A ratio of one coach for every 12 to 14 players ensures individualized and constant attention throughout the day.
The full-day format requires particular vigilance: scheduled hydration breaks, rotations between groups, rhythm adapted to each age bracket. The Foundation coaches are trained to adjust session intensity based on conditions and each participant’s fitness — the safety and well-being of the children guide every decision on the pitch.

Training
At Alto do Lumiar, the day is packed — and that’s exactly the point. From 9:00 am to 5:00 pm, the program alternates technical blocks, team games, matches and tournaments, with well-calibrated breaks to keep the intensity going from start to finish.
The morning is dedicated to foundational work: three blocks of technical drills built around the theme of the day, interspersed with hydration breaks and group rotations. The afternoon ramps up with themed matches and tournaments, where every concept practiced in the morning meets the reality of the game. A sustained rhythm, day-by-day progression, and an atmosphere that makes you want to come back the next morning.
On Friday, the week wraps up with the official Real Madrid Foundation diploma ceremony — a moment of collective pride that every participant has been waiting for since the first whistle.
Coaches and coaching method
Lisbon is one of Europe’s most vibrant capitals — and the Real Madrid Foundation brings the same level of excellence here as in Madrid. The coaches present at Alto do Lumiar are mandated directly by the Foundation: UEFA licence holders, active year-round within the Madrid programs, they embody a method built on decades of elite development.
On the pitch at Complexo Desportivo do Alto do Lumiar, their approach is clear and consistent: targeted drills, personalized feedback, attention paid to every player regardless of their position in the group. With one coach for every 12 to 14 players, supported by local coaches, no child goes unnoticed — not even the quietest one.
What these coaches pass on in Lisbon is the same soccer culture that has built Real Madrid’s worldwide reputation: high standards as the driving force, kindness as the foundation, the joy of the game as the compass.
