Give your child (from 13 to 17 years old) the opportunity to put themselves into the boots of a professional Chelsea FC player thanks toย a soccer camp at their official training centre this summer!
The training program has been designed by coaches from the Chelsea FC Foundation,ย following the methodology employed by the professional first team.ย For 1 or 2 weeks, your child will play in one of the best footballing settings in England: Chelsea’s training centre and the Charterhouse School, with over 12 pitches, a swimming pool, top of the range bedrooms and its own sport centre.
The Total Soccer camps offer intensive training on the pitch as well as workshops specifically conceived to keep on learning off the pitch. International players can also choose to combine the Soccer program with English lessons, for improving both in soccerย and in the English language.ย
These camps are for Boys and Girls but are not mixed. Boys and girls will be separated in the accommodation and on the training pitches.
Note that the course is offered at other locations for older players and also for boys at other times:

Location
Founded in the 1600s,ย Charterhouse is one of the oldest and most historical schools in all of the UK.ย
The school is located in Surrey, near London. Its 240 acres of land and its incredible main building are sure to take your breath away, and it is surrounded by more modern buildings. Charterhouse also has a rich footballing history : it helped define the rules of the beautiful game during the first meeting of the Soccer Association in 1863!
Accommodation
Charterhouse private school is a historical and high quality setting and environment for the players to train and live in, guaranteeing an amazing camp.
There are single and double bedrooms as well as shared bedrooms with their own bathrooms. The campers will be allocated to rooms based on their age on arrival. A swimming pool, a gym andย a common room for the kids to play video games, table tennis and cardsย is sure to keep them busy. There is also a place to buy extra food or drink if the campers are so inclined.ย Wi-Fi access is available throughout the campus.ย
All travel during the camp is done on foot, from the accommodation to the eating halls to the sporting facilities. The campers will spend their week within impressive, historical buildings.
The sporting Facilities
The soccer will take place on 12 natural grass soccer pitches. Well maintained and excellent quality, it is the perfect environment for your child to learn and improve.
An indoor swimming pool, a sports hall and an athletics trackย are available for off-pitch training, to complement the soccer training. All the facilities are ultra modern, to replicate the same training conditions as the professional Chelsea players.
Catering and food
This camp is full board which means that all meals are included:ย breakfast, lunch, afternoon snack and dinner.ย
Nutritionists will prepare well balanced meals that cover all the needs of young athletes.ย
Vegetarian options are available and all dietary restrictions and allergies are taken into account. Once you have finalised the booking, make sure to specify these needs in the registration form.
Safety and security
The camp’s accommodation, sporting facilities and eating halls are all within the same campus, meaning that all travel is done by foot.
We have a dedicated pastoral care (child welfare) team on-site all day and night on every soccer camp. The main goal is to ensure the safety and well-being of every kid as well as assisting with the basics like getting players to sessions on time and with the right kit and equipment and ensuring they get enough sleep.

Training
The Chelsea FC camps offer two different programs to potential campers:
- Total Soccer : 24 hours of soccer training and 8 hours of workshops around topics to give better understanding of athletic performance
- Soccer + English: 24 hours of soccer training and ย and 13 hours of English language classes
Once you have made your pick, the kids will be divided into groups based on their age and level, after a first morning of tests. Of course, the coaches will readjust players throughout the week if necessary, to make sure every player is in the group.
All the campers follow the same schedule. The only difference is the afternoon session between : Total Soccer campers will have a football workshops and the others will have a language class.ย
The training sessions will primarily focus on match-like situations and will encourage each player to practice the skills and techniques they have learnt throughout the camp. During the day, the Chelsea coaches and invited speakers will give the campers a taste and a peek into what professional life looks like in the world of soccer.
The coaches will alternate technical drills with theme and team based exercises to practice what the kids have learnt while training and during the workshops.
The players will improve thanks to a combination of different training techniques: competency challenges and fun games. The younger players will train in a fun and engaging environment, while the older players can expect more intense training sessions that will challenge them technically and tactically, to push them as much as possible. All campers will leave with a better understanding of the sport as well as increased confidence. All this takes place in an international environment with players from all over the world!
The Chelsea FC Foundation also organises a specific program for goalkeepers ! Keepers will have an individual technical training session a day, and will then join the others for the match like situations, games and drills that need goalkeepers.
Coaches and coaching method
The Chelsea FC Foundation coaches designed the training program alongside the Chelsea FC Academy.ย The program will challenge the players and help them to rapid improvement. The methodology is based on a combination of high intensity, technical and tactical training, understanding of the game as well as improving self confidence on and off the pitch.
All the camp’s coaches are qualified and have considerable experience.ย They have all been certified by Chelsea FC, with careful consideration of their mentality and making sure that their qualities and values are in line with the club’s.
Staff and activities
The Chelsea FC Foundation coaches will be taking care of the players while training and the wellbeing staff will do the rest. They will be in charge of taking care of the kids and making sure that everything goes well on a day to day basis.
From the moment they wake up to when they go to bed, all the staff will make sure that the kids are enjoying themselves and have everything they need.
Trips and days out
As well as the exceptional setting and environment, this camp will provide a unique and unforgettable experience for your kids, complete with memorable excursions.
All the campers will have the opportunity to train at the official Chelsea FC training centre.ย This is a particularly special experience as they will play on the same pitches as some of their very favourite players. They will also get the chance to visitย the legendary Stamford Bridge stadium, and its museum.ย
For the campers staying two weeks, 2 extra excursions will be organised:ย a tour of London as well as visitingย the Portsmouth Historic Dockyard.ย A crucial cultural day for all our soccer camps.
Language Class
The English Language program at this camp will provide campers with concrete learning thanks toย 13 hours of lessons, but it will also encourage the kids to use English in their daily life, on the pitch, during class and in the evenings. They will therefore be learning English all day every day.
Practically speaking, when the campers arrive, they will beย tested and divided into classes based on their level.ย
For an efficient and intensive week of learning, the CLIC method (Content and Language Integrated Learning) will be employed.ย Based on conversation and speaking,ย the method has been proven to work thanks to the freedom and autonomy it gives the children, as well as encouraging their creativity thanks to fun activities.ย Progress will come thick and fast!
There will be no more than 12 students per teacher to optimise teaching.
At the end of the week, the students willย receive a written report, a certificate and individual feedback from their teacher with tips to continue to improve after the camp.

Arrival
All children must arrive on Monday between 08am and 1pm so as not to miss the introductions to the various programmes, which take place just after lunch.
If you take the airport transfer option, the plane must arrive between 08am and 4pm. If the plane arrives in the afternoon, your children will miss the programme introductions but will not miss the opening ceremony in the evening.
Departure
Kids must leave the campus on Sunday morning from 9am.
If you take the airport transfer option, the plane must be between 11am and 6pm maximum on Sunday. Tickets must be sent with your application.
