Training
During these summer football camps, Arsenal FC offers 2 programmes:
- A 100% Soccer camp with up to 30 hours of training per week. 3 hours in the morning and 3 hours in the afternoon during which all aspects of the game will be worked on.
- A “Language + Soccer” camp with 15 hours of soccer (morning or afternoon) and 15 hours of English lessons (morning or afternoon).
The training programme for the Arsenal camps follows the Arsenal Academy programme. It will offer children the opportunity to learn and progress in the “Play the Arsenal Way”. This means that the project is to instil in the children during the course the same style of play and the same philosophy of play as Arsenal’s professional team.
Arsenal Football Development uses tests to identify each player’s strengths and weaknesses, and then sets targets for their progress. To achieve this, the coaches offer sessions that are complete with technical exercises, tactical exercises and matches. It’s important to note that understanding the game is an important element of Arsenal training sessions. Tactical sessions, analysis of phases of play, counter-attacking and pressing will also be on the programme.
Arsenal’s training camps are open to all levels and to boys and girls. Training sessions will be mixed. The aim is to give our players confidence and create an atmosphere conducive to performance for all.
For goalkeepers, specific sessions will be organised during the week to work on the fundamentals of this very special position.
Coaches and coaching method
The camp methodology comes straight from the Arsenal Academy and aims to “Play the Arsenal Way”. The technical director of Arsenal Football Development designed the program for these camps and all the coaches are perfectly positioned to follow the methodology. The program is based on tests of individual performance: this will help the players learn what their weaknesses and strengths are so that they can better improve them.
Head Coaches are UEFA qualified and all other coaches hold a minimum of a UEFA licence coaching qualification along with the English Football Association Youth coaching certification. It is extremely difficult to become an Arsenal Football Development and all those who succeed have immersed themselves in the Arsenal philosophy. A progress certificate will be given by each coach at the end of the camp so that parents can see how they child improved.
Staff and activities
24 hours a day, 7 days a week a team of staff will supervise the campers.
Throughout the week, the kids will have free time and they will take part in activities to fill this free time. A team of staff members will ensure that the campers enjoy themselves and organise these activities.
Trips and days out
For the children who will be staying with us for 2 weeks, they will have the chance to have 2 full days of excursions to rest and relax between the 2 weeks of football training.
The 1st excursion and highlight of the camp is a visit to the Emirates Stadium, Arsenal’s famous stadium. Your children will have the chance to take a private tour and will have access to the changing rooms, the press conference room, the edge of the pitch and the Museum. They’ll also have a chance to visit the shop and take home a little souvenir of this exceptional moment.
On the 2nd day, they will go on a city tour together. It’s a great time, with visits to all the city’s monuments, a bit of shopping and a coffee.
Language Class
For children choosing the “Language + Soccer” programme, in addition to the 15 hours of football training, there will be 15 hours of English lessons during the week.
The English lessons are given by qualified and enthusiastic teachers. They use an interactive and engaging method so that students feel comfortable and confident. A test will be carried out beforehand to assess the child’s level of English and to ensure that they are in the right group to guarantee their progress.
Each day, the children will study 3 different lessons in order to develop their vocabulary, to become more precise in the way they speak and write and above all to gain self-confidence. There will be 3 lessons:
- English Core: focusing on vocabulary, grammar and pronunciation
- Enrichment: focusing on oral communication, listening comprehension, reading and writing
- Projects: work on a group project to put into practice what they have learned.
As excellence is the watchword of the language courses at Arsenal FC, there will be no more than 14 students per teacher.
Your children will receive a certificate at the end of the camp and a report from the teacher.

We encourage your child to telephone you to let you know that they have arrived safely.
Your child is taken to his/her room

Activity/game or dinner (depending on arrival time)
The first day begins with a presentation of the site and assessment tests.
Your child will take part in a range of activities to help them settle in quickly and make new friends.
What’s the procedure for leaving the campus?
The departure list will be posted two days before the planned departure date, with departure times for all children concerned. Departure times are calculated according to the transport time from the centre to the departure point and the check-in time for your child’s train/plane.
If your child believes that a mistake has been made regarding their departure time, they should inform an Administrator who will check their ticket and make any necessary changes.
On the day of departure, your child must pack all his/her belongings and be ready for the departure time that has been communicated to him/her.
They will then be taken to their airport or Eurostar station by taxi, minibus, coach or, in some cases, public transport.
Who will look after my child during the camp ?
The ratio of staff to children is 1:4, guaranteeing excellent supervision.
The teams are all enthusiastic, motivated and professional. Before working for the Arsenal course, all staff members must undergo a DBS Check (a background and criminal record check carried out by a non departmental public body). They must also also undergo training in first aid, pastoral care and health and safety procedures. Sports instructors are fully qualified, have extensive experience or are former players in the sport they teach.
The English teachers all hold TEFL diploma (Teaching English as a Foreign Language).
Finally, all the staff live on site, which means that the children can be looked after children 24 hours a day, both on and off site. Some centres are also equipped with CCTV. Staff bedrooms are adjacent to the children’s bedrooms. Anyone attempting to leave the centre at night, at the risk of endangering themselves or others, will be immediately dismissed.
How can I contact my child during the camp ?
An emergency number will be given to you before the start of the camp so that you can contact your child.
My child is taking part in the course on his own, and I’m worried about his adaptation
Most participants come to the camp without their friends and family. Children attending the camp alone will be grouped with other players of the same age who are also alone. The first session of each camp is designed to help all individual players integrate into a team and make new friends.
On-site medical services :
If necessary, paramedics and first-aiders will be able to administer over-the-counter medicines (such as paracetamol) to your child unless you advise them otherwise in writing.
All campuses are close to a medical centre and they will arrange for your child to see a doctor if necessary.
Can I ask for my child to be in the same room as his friend?
If you would like your child to share a room with a friend or family member, please let us know when you book online and at least 4 weeks before the start of the camp. Please note that we cannot guarantee all requests and that in some cases it may be necessary to reapply on the first day of the camp.
It’s my child’s birthday during the camp :
It’s always a good idea to remind us that your child will be celebrating his or her birthday during the camp. They can celebrate with their new friends over a birthday cake.
Can I send mail to my child?
If you would like to send a letter or parcel to your child during their stay, you will find the campus address on the document we will provide you with a few days before the start of the camp.

What type of visa do I need to travel to England?
Visa requirements are constantly changing. Please contact your local British embassy for the latest information on travelling to England.
I’ve chosen the camp with language lessons. How will you form the level groups?
Two weeks before your child arrives at the camp, he or she will have to take an online English assessment to accurately evaluate his or her level of English before the start of the camp. This will enable us to form groups efficiently.
What about the airport/station transfer when my child arrives?
When you take the transfer option, players are met in the arrivals hall by a camp representative. Camp staff will wait to see if other players arrive at similar times before taking them all to their accommodation. For their return journey, players will be checked in and escorted through security checks in time for their flight. Staff will remain at the airport or station until all flights or trains have departed. Players will be supervised at all times by a member of the camp staff before security checks for departures, and after security checks for arrivals.
