The essentials
- An authentic FFF soccer camp with a personalised kit
- 25 hours of training a week
- The official “FFF” methodology courtesy of FFF’s technical director
- Incredible artificial pitches with an unmatched, magnificent view of Manhattan
Location
The FFF Academy camps take place in Brooklyn, a few minutes from Brooklyn Bridge. In fact, the pitches are located in a park named the Brooklyn Bridge Park. From the centre of Manhattan, the pitches are only a ten minute drive or subway ride away.
Brooklyn is New York City’s most populous borough and is constantly expanding. It is linked to Manhattan through three different specific spots, with by far the most famous being the legendary Brooklyn Bridge. As well as sensational views of Manhattan, Brooklyn offers a different side to New York, a more artistic and hipster side. It was therefore a logical decision for FFF to settle in Brooklyn. With more than 2,6 million inhabitants, there are more than a few soccer fans wandering about!

The sporting Facilities
The FFF Brooklyn soccer camps take place in the Brooklyn Bridge Park. The park, which borders the Hudson River, is a go-to spot for sporty people in Brooklyn. Basketball courts, volleyball courts, tracks for running, ping-pong tables and even kayaking spots, there is something for everyone. The area is totally dedicated to sports and fresh air: what better place for a soccer camp?
The pitch itself is located in Pier 5. It is a top of the range artificial pitch. Full sized, it is perfect for 11-a-side soccer as well as 7-a-side soccer on half pitches. It is probably the only soccer pitch in the world with a breath-taking view of the Manhattan skyline. The view is simply unforgettable.
Catering and food
Catering is not included in FFF Academy camps. The campers will need to bring their own lunch boxes.
We will provide water bottles for the kids, to make sure that they are well hydrated.
Safety and security
All day long, the kids will be supervised and taken care of by the FFF Academy coaches. These experienced coaches have been trained by the Technical Director of the FFF and have considerable experience with children. Safety at the FFF Academy camps is totally guaranteed.
The camp program
Training
France is widely regarded as being the best country for developing young players and is also the country that produces the most professional players every year. The FFF Academy wants to expand and export this expertise so that young players from all over the world can benefit from it.
Jean-Claude Lafargue, who used to be the director of the Institut National du Football en France (the National Institute of Soccer in France), is now the FFF Academy technical director. He has designed and implemented training programs from the FFF Academy for these camps, based on how the French national team youngsters train at Clairefontaine.
This means the campers will be following the same training program as the young professionals training at the INF Clairefontaine, who are likely to become top players. The aim of the camps is to help each player unlock their potential and take them from playing at an amateur level to a professional level, as well as preparing them for university.
A training day corresponds to 6 hours on the pitch, with a 30-45 minute lunch break and a few breaks. So there are 5 effective hours of soccer per day.
For summer camps. The program is simply shifted as the days start earlier to avoid the heat.
- First training session from 9am to 11am
- Second, calmer training session, based on technical workshops, from 12 noon to 9 p.m. before departure.
It is not just soccer however: human values are also given a lot of importance at FFF Academy camps. Shared by the coaches, values and morals will be at the heart of every training session and each camper must respect them: enjoyment, respect, tolerance, solidarity and commitment. It is very important for the kids to develop and progress on the pitch, but it is just as important for them to be good people off the pitch. Everyone will need to buy in to and respect the FFF values.
Coaches and coaching method
The FFF academy camps methodology was developed by Mr Lafargue, ex-director of the Institut National du Football en France. All the FFF Academy coaches are highly qualified and have been trained by the FFF Academy technical director. The five day training program is based on technical training drills and exercises that are then applied in matches and games. This allows the coaches to make sure that each child is assimilating and understanding the exercises properly, and that all the objectives, aims and goals of the camp are being met.
This methodology is used at Clairefontaine, which has produced some of the world’s best ever soccer players, like Mbappe, Henry or Matuidi.
