The International Development Academy is a private football centre with a simple objective: help each and every player maximise and reach their potential thanks to a personalised approach to training. The academy is guided by 3 important values:
- Integrity: coaches and players alike must be respectful, thoughtful and compassionate in everything they do
- Good behaviour: coaches and players will push themselves and make considerable efforts to maintain a good, enthusiastic attitude, even if it is tricky.
- Accomplishment: coaches will set advanced goals and objectives, and will work closely with the players to help them reach and even surpass these goals.
The International Development Academy (IDA) has locations in five countries across North America and Europe and have produced eight professional players already (players that spent time at the IDA and then signed a professional contract). An academy focused on sports as well as studying and education, it organises football camps in the summer (July and August). These are the perfect chance to get a taste of their programs, their methodology, their coaches and their sporting facilities.
If you choose to book an International Development Academy football camp, your kids will take part in a high intensity, high performance camp. The UEFA trained coaches guarantee each camper’s progress thanks to their personalised approach, which includes identifying every player’s strengths and weaknesses so that they can work on them. At the IDA training sessions, technique, tactics, game intelligence, physical condition and mental strength will all be the focus.

Location
The International Development Academy Florida football camps are located in Daytona Beach, only 5 minutes away from the sea.
On this sports campus, there are two accommodations to welcome the players, artificial pitches, a weights room and access to the Daytona Beach beach.
A football camp at Daytona Beach is guaranteed to be unforgettable for your kids. The weather is glorious with sun year round and the beaches extend for miles, with palm trees peeking out on their edges. It is a holiday destination, but it is also great for students, and Americans love it. Your child will be in a dream state, living the American life for a week in Florida.
Accommodation
Your children will be hosted in modern accommodation that extends over 18 000 square metres. 80 kids can be hosted in both accommodations. They are both equipped with a furnished kitchen, an onsite laundromat, common rooms and freely accessible WiFi.
The accommodation is just 5 minutes away from the beach. The campers will have easy access to the sea during their free time.
The sports complex includes an 11-a-side artificial pitch, perfect for football in any weather. The campers will also have access to a weights room and a gym. Of course, football is the focus of International Development Academy camps, but an incredible, relaxing setting is also important to provide.
The sporting Facilities
The sporting facilities at the International Development Academy are very modern and second to none. The training sessions take place on a brand new football pitch. The 11-a-side football pitch is artificial turf, which means it is ripe for training no matter how the weather is behaving.
On top of the football pitch, your kids will have access to 4 beach soccer pitches and a beach volley court, for diverse sporting activities. They will also be able to go to the performance centre, including a sports and weights room. The campus also has a top of the range athletes recovery room, meaning your children will be at the top of their game throughout the football camp.
The DME Academy, the IDA headquarters, is truly offering the campers the chance to step into a professional footballer’s boots, with access to incredible facilities only normally available to professional athletes.
Catering and food
Catering at the camps take place in a modern canteen. It is worth knowing that the International Development Academy camps are available as half-board (with lunch and a snack) or as full-board (with 3 meals a day plus a snack).
The meals are all thought out by expert nutritionists, specialised in sport. Balanced and tasty meals will give the campers all the energy and nutrients they need for an intense week of sport.
The kids will also be taught how to properly have a balanced and healthy diet, and given nutrition tips so that they can eat like a pro once they have left the camp.
If your child has any specific dietary requirements or allergies, then let us know in the registration form. The nutritionists will take these into account and adapt the menu accordingly.
Safety and security
At this camp, all the facilities are on campus. Whether it’s their bedroom, the football pitches, the canteen or the gym, your child will be able to walk everywhere. The campus is entirely private so only players and staff will have access. A security team will be supervising the premises 24/7.
Your kids will also be under the constant supervision of the staff throughout the camp, so there is no need to worry.

Training
The International Development Academy has created a training program that is focused on improving and developing every player with careful consideration and coaching given to each camper. The IDA method is based on 3 aspects: integrity, good behaviour and accomplishment. All the drills and exercises will include these three things, in view of creating great athletes on and off the pitch.
To reach these lofty goals, the IDA program organises two different training sessions a day. The morning sessions consists of drills and exercises focusing on developing each camper’s technique, tactics and match intelligence. It lasts for an hour and a half and is followed by a recovery session. The afternoon session focuses on applying what was learnt in the morning in matches. Matches on smaller pitches will take place and there will sometimes be an evening football tournament from 6 PM to 8 PM.
One thing that makes this camp stand out is the fact that all the training sessions are filmed, so that the coaches can analyse the footage afterwards with the players. Every day, there will be a video analysis session from 3:30 PM to 5:30 PM.
The training program that the International Development Academy is therefore very thorough. Technical and tactical trainings, video analysis sessions for discovering strengths and weaknesses and a competitive matches for putting everything learnt during the day in place, each camper should significantly improve.
Coaches and coaching method
The International Development Academy methodology was created by coaches with over 20 years of experience with young players. They have all worked at some of the biggest clubs in Europe and the United States and they all have UEFA Pro and UEFA A diplomas. This is a guarantee of the technical, tactical and educational skills needed for high level coaching.
They are the ones who will apply the IDA methods based on individual development thanks to their camper specific approach. It is very complete: technical and tactical filmed training sessions, video analysis and application in intense matches. The goal is to produce athletes that know what a high level athlete lifestyle looks like.
Staff and activities
There will be a non-coaching team of staff on campus seven days a week and 24 hours a day. This will mean there will always be a team taking care of the kids, even when they’re not on the pitch.
There will be free time, for the kids to relax and have fun and for trips. The staff will make sure that every camper has a fantastic time.
Trips and days out
This football camp takes place in a magnificent place: Daytona Beach. It’s a lively and touristy place with an exceptional beach a short walk from campus. There will be a number of trips to the beach as well as restaurant and shopping outings, so that the campers can bring back memories from this incredible week.
The unfaltering sun will mean that the whole camp will be basked in warm sunlight, just another way this camp will be unforgettable.

Arrival
Arrival at the camp must take place on the Sunday morning between 8:30 AM and 9:30 AM. This is to make sure that every camper takes part in the opening ceremony and the first training sessions, where groups based on skill will be decided.
Departure
The IDA camps finish at noon on the Saturday. You must pick up your children from 12 PM.
