Why do a Fenerbahçe soccer camp ?

Since its creation in 1959, only three clubs have always taken part in the Süper Lig (Turkey’s first division): Fenerbahçe, Galatasaray and Beşiktaş. While Galatasaray holding the record for most Süper Ligs, other national divisions were played for 1959, and it is instead Fenerbahçe who hold the record for most Turkish championships with 28.

Fenerbahçe are no strangers to incredible soccer players. Mesut Özil moved there from Arsenal. The German player is often criticized for his perceived laziness and nonchalance. However, looking nonchalant does not mean you are nonchalant, and he would fit into any team in the world. Cristiano Ronaldo, one of the greatest goalscorers ever, said that Özil was the one teammate he did not want to leave, which is high praise indeed.

Fenerbahçe does not just play soccer. Indeed, it is a sports club and also competes in basketball, table tennis, athletics and several other sports. However, the soccer part of the club is by far the most significant and successful, but there has been considerable success in other sports, especially volleyball, being the first Turkish club to be crowned World Champions.

Fenerbahçe, a club with a dedicated fanbase

Fenerbahçe have one of the biggest fanbases in Turkey, and their fanbase stretches much further than that. Soccer is the most popular sport in Turkey and the results of matches influence the country.

The biggest rivalry in Turkey is between Fenerbahçe and Galatasaray and it is one of the fiercest in the world. There are many documentaries about the Intercontinental Derby as it called and they are fascinating. If you want to see true passion from around 50,000 people, then watch an Intercontinental Derby.

The country is still very welcoming, as the Turks are keen to share their passion and their culture with foreigners.
