In Vila Nova de Gaia, on the south bank facing Porto, the Madrid Foundation sets up its official football camp for the start of the 2026 school year. From 31 August to 4 September, boys and girls aged 6 to 12 take over Campo Oliveira do Douro for five final summer days in the colours of La Casa Blanca. Technique, teamwork, competitive spirit: a week to end the summer on a high note — and head back to school with something to talk about.

Location
The camp takes place at Campo Oliveira do Douro, a sports ground located in the Oliveira do Douro district of Vila Nova de Gaia.
Vila Nova de Gaia sits on the left bank of the Douro, facing Porto. Known worldwide for its port wine cellars lining the slopes above the river, Gaia is also a dynamic and well-equipped city that has developed its own cultural and sports facilities whilst preserving its authentic character. The Dom Luís Bridge connects both banks in just a few minutes — Porto and all its attractions are right at hand.
For families accompanying their child, the Porto region is one of the richest in Portugal: baroque architecture and azulejos, renowned gastronomy, beaches half an hour away, Douro vineyards to explore at the weekend. An end-of-summer destination that will delight young and old, sporty or not.
Attending the Real Madrid Foundation camp in Vila Nova de Gaia at the end of August means combining top-level football with immersion in one of Portugal’s most vibrant regions — a final summer memory before heading back to school.
The sporting Facilities
Campo Oliveira do Douro provides the functional, well-maintained setting required to host a Real Madrid Foundation camp. The three age groups (6–7, 8–10 and 11–12) train simultaneously in dedicated areas, organised so each group can work in the best conditions without interfering with the others.

Safety and security

Training
Last week of August, first hints of September: this is the ideal window chosen by the Real Madrid Foundation to set up its camp in Gaia. The programme follows the usual framework — technique in the morning, matches and tournaments in the afternoon — with a different game theme each day to maintain engagement and progression for every participant.
The three groups progress at their own pace: the 6–7 year-olds discover the fundamentals with lightness and enthusiasm, the 8–10 year-olds deepen their game reading, the 11–12 year-olds sharpen their technique and competitive instinct. Five days to come away with new reflexes, an official certificate, and the pride of having worn, for the duration of a week, the white shirt of Real Madrid.
Coaches and coaching method
In Vila Nova de Gaia, the camp is held just steps from the cellars where the finest port wine ages — and the Real Madrid Foundation coaches bring with them something equally rare: a training method forged within the Madrid Academy, delivered by professionals who live it year-round.
Holders of the UEFA coaching licence, appointed directly by the Real Madrid Foundation, they arrive in Gaia with a clear objective: that every child leaves with concrete progress, regardless of their starting experience. With one coach for every 12 to 14 players, supported by local coaches, the follow-up is individualised and constant.
