The Jean-Michel Larqué football camp has now come to an end.
For several years, Looking For Soccer had the pleasure of partnering with the football camps organised by Jean-Michel Larqué, a true institution in French summer football camps. After 43 years of activity, these iconic camps officially ended in summer 2025.
We would like to warmly thank Jean-Michel Larqué for his trust, the quality of our collaboration, and for everything he passed on to generations of young footballers.
If you were looking for a football camp for your child, we offer more than one hundred other camps in France and in other countries.

Reviews of the camp Jean Michel Larqué
Camp facilities
The essentials
- Summer camp in Saint-Jean-de-Luz – Pyrénées-Atlantiques department (64)
- High-quality facilities (secondary school that hosts boarding students year-round)
- Well-maintained football pitches close to the accommodation
- Safety ensured by qualified supervisory staff
Location
The sporting facilities were those of the town of Saint-Jean-de-Luz. Three large natural grass pitches were available to the children throughout the summer. As the Jean-Michel Larqué football camp had existed for many years, these facilities were perfectly maintained to allow optimal football practice. In case of bad weather, an indoor gym allowed training sessions to continue indoors.
In addition, the facilities were located just a short walk from the accommodation. Camp participants walked to the changing rooms and pitches without having to cross a single road.
Accommodation
Throughout the camp, children will be accommodated in the facilities of a secondary/vocational school that hosts boarding pupils during the academic year. Whether you choose the half-board or full-board option, your child will be well looked after. Rooms are shared between participants, with both triple and quadruple rooms available.

Catering and food
As the children were hosted within the grounds of a secondary school, meals were provided on site by the establishment. The menus were varied to ensure that children could eat their fill while receiving the nutritional intake required for football training.
Safety and security
As mentioned earlier, the entire camp took place within the boarding school complex. The dining areas and bedrooms were located just a short walking distance from the football facilities.
The accommodation and leisure areas were enclosed within a secure perimeter, preventing any unauthorised access. In addition, non-football supervisory staff were present 24 hours a day with the children.
Jean-Michel Larqué was present on site every day, from morning until evening.
The camp program
The essentials
- Available in full-board or half-board option
- Jean-Michel Larqué is present to oversee the coaches and players throughout the camp
- Training sessions combining technical and team-based work
- Daily matches to put training into practice
- Coaches and supervisory staff hold the qualifications required by the French authorities
Training
Each morning began with training sessions focused on developing the individual technical skills of young players. During these sessions, children were divided into groups to encourage individual progression. Jean-Michel Larqué supervised each group and regularly shared his valuable advice throughout the week.
Afternoons were dedicated to collective football practice. Children were divided into teams and took part in a tournament designed to put the morning’s learning into practice. Coaches also helped players improve their positioning and tactical understanding of the game. After all, isn’t it said that one match is worth ten training sessions?
Coaches and coaching method
Beyond Jean-Michel Larqué’s daily presence on the pitches, all coaches who worked with the young players during training sessions were personally selected and recruited by the former French international himself.
During the camp, each coach supervised an average of around 10 players and held all the qualifications required by the French authorities.
From a methodological perspective, the Larqué camp combined individual technical work with collective application. The football was at the centre of most drills and exercises carried out throughout the week.
Staff and activities
All supervisory staff (excluding football coaches) were selected by Jean-Michel Larqué and held at least the BAFA qualification (French youth activity leader certificate).
As the camp had been running for many years, the activity teams changed very little from one season to another. This ensured strong cohesion among staff members, which was clearly reflected in the quality of activities offered to the children.
