Why do an Olympique Marseillais football camp ?

Olympique Marseillais, more commonly referred to as OM, is one of France’s most successful clubs and the only one to win a Champions League. They managed to do so in 1993 when they defeated AC Milan 1-0. In truth, they would likely be the most successful club in France had PSG not been bought by very rich owners, as their budgets are vastly different.

On top of that, Marseille and its surrounding region are a lovely place to visit. Warm sun on beautiful Mediterranean beaches are definitely worth visiting, but Marseille also has a lot to offer when it comes to culture and museums. For example, La Friche is an old tobacco factory that has been converted into an incredible space that hosts a different cultural event every weekend. It is one of the most vibrant cities in France and is perfect for a lazy vacation or a sightseeing one.

Olympique Marseillais, a passionate club

OM has very passionate fans, and they usually have the highest average attendance of all French teams. They have been playing their home games at the Stade Vélodrome since 1937 and it has an official capacity of 67,000. The fans expect a lot of the club, and have fierce rivalries with a number of other clubs, notably PSG despite being on the other side of the country.

The club is no stranger to world class football players. Didier Drogba, Dimitri Payet, Samir Nasri and Franck Ribéry are just some of the unbelievable players that played for OM, usually kickstarting their career. Didier Deschamps, a legendary French player, was not only the club captain as a player, he also led the club to its first league title in eighteen years as a manager. This club knows what football excellence looks like !
